§ Mr. Dudley SmithThe arguments in this publication, together with other relevant information, were considered by the Inter-Departmental Working Party on Unemployment Statistics. Its report, which was published as a White Paper (Cmnd. 5157) on 20th November, included detailed discussion of the various criticisms which have been made about the unemployment statistics and made recommendations for improving their presentation. The unemployment statistics are now being presented in a new format based on these recommendations.
