HC Deb 09 May 1972 vol 836 c346W
Mr. Ashton

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will introduce a Bill to amend the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1963, to prevent bookmakers from conducting betting inside cricket grounds either on cricket, horse racing, or any other sport.

Mr. Carlisle

The law already imposes restrictions on activities of this kind. I shall watch current developments to see whether those restrictions are observed and are adequate.
