HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 c212W
Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many people were in full-time employment in the Leek parliamentary constituency at the most recent count; and what were the comparable figures six months previously.

Mr. Dudley Smith

Employment estimates for local areas are made only for each mid-year and the latest are for June, 1970. In the area covered by the Leek, Cheadle, Biddulph and Kidsgrove Employment Exchanges, the estimated number of employees in employment at June, 1970, was 33,900. The statistics do not identify full-time and part-time workers separately.
