asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of unfilled vacancies for women and girls in the clothing and footwear industry in the Yorkshire and Humberside region at the most recent date.

At 7th June the provisional numbers of notified vacancies remaining unfilled in the clothing and footwear industries in the Yorkshire and Humberside region were 513 for women and 309 for girls. The figures relate only to notified vacancies remaining unfilled and do not purport to measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of unfilled vacancies for women and girls in the clothing and footwear industry in the North-West region at the most recent date.

At 7th June the numbers of notified vacancies remaining unfilled in the clothing and footwear industries in the North-West region were 707 for women and 149 for girls. The figures relate only to notified vacancies remaining unfilled and do not purport to measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour.
