asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the latest level of unemployment in Birmingham.

Mr. Dudley Smith

At 12th June, the number of people registered as unemployed in the Birmingham travel-to-work area was 27,511, including 1,521 who were temporarily stopped, and the rate of unemployment was 4.1 per cent.
