§ 91. Mr. Robert Cooke
asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on what criteria he assesses the commercial potential of international horicultural and agricultural exhibitions; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Anthony Grant
The Department bases its assessment of the commercial potential of international trade exhibitions on the market prospects for the types of products to be displayed. In 1971 we helped British firms to participate in a number of international horticultural and agricultural exhibitions overseas and we shall continue to do so provided there are good market prospects for the products to be displayed and 21W British firms themselves judge it to be in their best commercial interests to participate.
