HL Deb 09 August 1972 vol 334 c1265WA
THE EARL OF LAUDERDALE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps have been taken to prepare a survey of Scottish water resources corresponding with that being compiled in England and Wales with the aid of river authorities' "Section 14 surveys".

THE MINISTER OF STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (LORD POLWARTH)

The first stages have been completed of a review of water resources in Scotland which is at present being carried out by my right hon. Friend's Department in cooperation with water boards. This covers the present demand for water and possible sources for meeting estimated requirements until the end of the century. We hope to publish the results early next year.
