§ 60. Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the number of research establishments run by private international companies which have been closed in the United Kingdom in the last 12 months and the approximate number of persons made redundant.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkAccording to notifications received by my Department, four research establishments run by private companies were due to close in the last 12 months, involving some 230 redundancies. However, I cannot be fully informed as to international connections which these companies may have, and my information is limited to Great Britain.
