§ 34. Mr. Goodhartasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimate he has made of the number of people suffering from glaucoma in this country.
§ Mr. AlisonWe have no direct information on which I could base such an estimate. I understand, however, that two local surveys made in the last 10 years would point to a probable incidence of glaucoma in England and Wales of about nine persons per 1,000 of those aged over 40.
