HC Deb 25 May 1971 vol 818 c81W
65. Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, from information available to him from international sources, what is the average level of incomes of those employed and engaged in agriculture in New Zealand; and how this compares with agricultural incomes in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

Estimates of gross product per person engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing give an indication of the average level of incomes earned, and information on this in respect of the United Kingdom and European Economic Community countries was given in reply to the hon. Member for Walthamstow, West (Mr. Deakins) on 10th May. Comparable information for New Zealand is not available, but estimates made in my Department suggests that gross product per person employed in New Zealand agriculture is somewhat greater than for the United Kingdom.—[Vol. 817, c.42.]
