Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he has investigated the incidence of malnutrition amongst school children; and if he will make a statement;

(2) in what areas of the country has the incidence of malnutrition amongst school children increased in the last 12 months;

(3) if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT statistics relating to the incidence of malnutrition amongst school children, in each of the counties of England and Wales during the last five years;

(4) if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT statistics relating to the incidence of malnutrition amongst school children in each of the greater London boroughts during the last five years.

School children were included in the programme of surveillance referred to in my reply to the hon. Member for Rother Valley (Mr. Hardy) on 4th May, but for the reason given in that reply the statistics sought by the hon. Member are not available.—[Vol. 816, c. 297.]
