§ Mr. Gordon CampbellIn the five years from 1966 to 1970 the Highlands and Islands Development Board made grants averaging £151,194 a year and loans averaging £118,178 a year to holders of premises which were licensed either at the time or subsequently.
In 1970, the only full year of the Hotel Development Incentives Scheme, the Scottish Tourist Board paid £109,586 in grants to hotels: no analysis of this amount distinguishing between licensed and unlicensed premises is immediately available.
