HL Deb 31 March 1971 vol 316 c1444WA
LORD O'HAGEN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give more details of the nature of their review of the relation between the current intake of overseas workers and this country's manpower needs; who is conducting it; when it will be completed; and whether its proceedings will be published, or whether only its conclusions, without supporting evidence, will be made public.

THE MINISTER WITHOUT PORTFOLIO (LORD DRUMALBYN)

The review is being conducted by the Department of Employment in consultation with the other Departments concerned. The Government will announce their proposals for the future issue of work permits as soon as possible. It is too early to say when, or in what form, that announcement will be made.
