asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the total cost to public funds of supplementary benefits paid to employees of the Ford Motor Company and their de-dependants resulting from the industrial dispute at that company.

To Tuesday, 9th March, supplementary benefit payments for the dependants of persons involved in the dispute totalled £289,230. In addition 14 discretionary payments totalling £38 have been made to persons involved in the dispute for their own requirements.
