§ Mr. O'Halloranasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many voluntary primary schools are to be built in 1971, 1972 and 1973; how many unsatisfactory voluntary school primary 358W buildings are to be closed in the same period; and whether she will make a statement.
§ Mrs. ThatcherI expect work to start on 142 new voluntary primary schools this year, 230 in 1972–73 and 249 in 1973–74. These projects will enable 546 existing voluntary schools to be closed or replaced.
