§ Mr. MacArthurasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a further statement about the implementation of the Tayside Study.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellA number of the local authorities in the area have now decided to establish a Tayside Development Authority.
The authorities in the area have been asked by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Development to consider jointly the physical planning of the area in the light of the study, in order to agree a five-year programme of rehabilitation and improvement. Informal meetings have also been held at official level with individual authorities to discuss their development plan policies against the background of a regional strategy. My hon. Friend will later meet the authorities to discuss future development planning for Tayside.
