asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the number of general practitioners and the average number of patients on the lists in Sunderland for the latest available date.

Mr. Alison

Seventy-nine doctors are now providing full general medical services in the area of the Sunderland Executive Council and the average list is 2,805 patients. Two more doctors will join the Council's medical list on 1st November and the average list will then be 2,737.
