§ Mr. van StraubenzeeThe 1971–72 design list for Huddersfield, which will form the basis of the 1972–73 starts programme, includes an allocation of £100,000 for the improvement or replacement of old primary schools, a new primary school at Fixby, which will help to improve conditions at the Birkby Infant School, and extensions to Royds Hall Secondary School which, when completed, should enable the school's two detached annexes to be given up.
