HC Deb 24 November 1970 vol 807 c114W
Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what provisions are made in the agreement between Securicor Limited and Her Majesty's Government, made on 1st July, 1970, relating to custodial and welfare work undertaken in respect of immigrants refused admission to this country, in respect of tortious acts committed by employees of that company against an immigrant so detained.

Mr. Sharples

None. The agreement governs the relations of the parties to it and does not affect the remedies of others.

Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what complaints procedure is available to immigrants who are refused entry to this country to deal with complaints against employees of Securicor Limited engaged in custodial and welfare work under the supervision of the Immigration Office.

Mr. Sharples

Any complaint may be made orally or in writing to an officer of the Immigration Service or in writing to the Immigration and Nationality Department of the Home Office.

Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will discontinue the practice whereby he refuses to disclose the payment made to Securicor Limited in connection with their work in supervising immigrants who are refused entry to this country.

Mr. Sharples

No.
