HC Deb 16 November 1970 vol 806 c298W
3. Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will seek to raise at the United Nations Organisation the establishment of an international register of place names throughout the world so that they should be known and referred to abroad by the same name as is accepted in the country in which they are situated.

Mr. Godber

It is an interesting suggestion that my noble Friend has put forward, but I fear that it would prove difficult to implement.
