HC Deb 16 November 1970 vol 806 cc308-9W
Sir J. Foster

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government have yet responded to the International Commission of Jurists' appeal for financial aid to enable them to carry on their work.

Mr. Godber

Yes. In view of the Commission's urgent need, which was recognised by the previous Administration, a grant of £20,000 was made on the 1st September. Parliament will be asked to approve the necessary supplementary estimate in due course. In the meantime an advance has been obtained from the Civil Contingencies Fund.
