(2) what was the total revenue from gaming machine licence duty for the two years ended 30th September, 1969, and 30th September, 1970; and what was the cost of collecting these duties during each of the two periods.
§ Mr. HigginsNet receipts from the gaming machine licence duty for the licence years ended 30th September, 1969, and 30th September, 1970, were about £2.9 million and £8.3 million respectively. It is estimated that about £5.2 million of the latter figure derived from machines on premises without local authority approval. Separate figures for the cost of collecting this licence duty are not available.
