Whether those British subjects resident in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Malaysia, Singapore, South Yemen, and the Caribbean, will be allowed to settle in the United Kingdom; how long is the queue of those who have expressed a desire to come; how long, at the present rate of admission (or an average of what it has been each year since 1968), it will be before all those British subjects will have had the chance of coming to the United Kingdom.

As at September 30, 1970, some 9,000 heads of families, mostly in East Africa, had applied for the special vouchers which entitle them to settle in this country with their families. At the present rate of admission it would be six years before all those who have applied were admitted.

§ THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE, FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE (THE MARQUESS OF LOTHIAN)Consular facilities are available to British subjects, citizens of the United Kingdom and Colonies, in the countries named and in the Caribbean. The number of cases of, and expenditure on, repatriation to the United Kingdom in the last ten years from each country is given in the attached table.

§ THE MARQUESS OF LOTHIANNumbers of those British subjects who are eligible for repatriation or relief who are destitute (i.e., have no visible means of support) and in need of protection are reported as follows:
- Kenya—None.
- Uganda—11, to whom assistance is being given.
- Tanzania—Not more than 10, to whom assistance is being given.
- Zambia—None.
- Malawi—None.
- Malaysia—None.
- Singapore—1, to whom assistance is being given.
- South Yemen—None.
- Caribbean—None.
