HC Deb 02 November 1970 vol 805 c251W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) whether he will commission a study of the suitability of siting the third London airport on reclaimed land in the Severn Estuary;

(2) whether he will widen the search for a new international airport to include areas more suited environmentally than those already nominated; and whether he will take into account the pending introduction by British Railways of new high-speed trains.

Mr. Noble

No. The terms of reference of the Commission on the Third London Airport did not preclude consideration by the Commission of all the points referred to by my hon. Friend.
