HC Deb 02 November 1970 vol 805 cc251-2W
Captain Kerby

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will seek to amend the present legal position of the inventor who is employed gainfully and evolves an invention, in respect of his employer's right to claim the invention without recompense to the inventor, in view of the fact that the present law is causing a number of inventors to emigrate.

Mr. Ridley

The Report of the Departmental Committee on Patents (Banks Committee) which was published last July made recommendations on this point. I expect to announce the Government's intentions with regard to this Report before very long.
