HC Deb 02 November 1970 vol 805 c282W
Mr. Leadbitter

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many local authorities are implementing, or have undertaken to implement, the provisions of the Chronic Sick and Disabled Persons Act.

Mr. Alison

The Act imposed a variety of duties on different local authorities. No part of it came into force until 29th August, and some sections have yet to be implemented. It is therefore too early to measure the response of local authorities, but I have no reason to think that they are not taking such action as their resources allow.
