HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 c514W
Mr. Judd

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will now make a statement on the implementation of the recommendations by the National Board for Prices and Incomes concerning the pay of industrial civil servants, as related to Royal Naval Dockyards and other naval establishments.

Dr. David Owen:

Negotiations with the trade union side were opened at a meeting of the Joint Co-ordinating Committee yesterday. There was a useful exchange of views based on the recommendations in N.B.P.I. Report 146. A formal offer is now being made by the official side for consideration by the trades unions concerned. Another meeting of the J.C.C. will be held in the near future with the object of agreeing new rates for application with effect from 1st July.
