HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 c514W
Mr. Fortescue

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what action he has taken to ensure that casualties among members of Her Majesty's Forces seconded to the forces of the Sultan of Muscat and Oman are reported to his Department.

Mr. Hattersley:

I take the opportunity of correcting and apologising for an error in my answer of 25th March to the hon. Member for Epping (Mr. Newens). A non-notifiable injury to an army officer has been brought to my attention by the hon. Member for Liverpool, Garston (Mr. Fortescue) and I am currently investigating whether there are similar cases. At the same time a reminder is being incorporated in the instructions for all seconded Army and Navy personnel that cases of death and serious injury should be reported to the Ministry of Defence. Instructions for RAF personnel are already adequate.—[Vol. 798, c. 417–18.]
