§ Mr. Costainasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what action he proposes regarding Caesar's Camp Quarantine Kennels at Folkestone, where two cases of rabies occurred last year.
§ Mr. Cledwyn Hughes:As a result of certain irregularities in the management of these kennels which have recently come to light, I am not prepared to continue my approval of the premises under their present management. The premises are however being re-approved for 6 months subject to the condition that all matters affecting the quarantine arrangements shall be under the control of a veterinary surgeon whom I am appointing and employing for this purpose. The present owners of the kennels have agreed to this arrangement. Full details are being brought to the notice of the Committee of Inquiry into Rabies under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ronald Waterhouse, Q.C.
