asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the areas of each city in Scotland which qualify for reduction of rates, and on what grounds.

Mr. Ross:

Reductions in rates in the cities are given under general and local enactments in respect of particular classes of property or particular properties: there is no city area in which all the lands and heritages qualify for reductions in rates.
