HC Deb 13 May 1970 vol 801 cc277-8W
Mr. Jopling

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps he is taking to improve the economy of upland farms.

Mr. Cledwyn Hughes:

Upland farmers will benefit from the increases in hill cow and beef cow subsidies, and the higher guaranteed prices for fat cattle and sheep. The increases in the rates of capital grants will also encourage investment and improve the economy of the upland areas.
