asked the Secretary of State for Local Government and Regional Planning why he has refused to meet a deputation from the five county boroughs in the West Midlands who are concerned about the proposals contained in the Maud Report.

Mr. Crosland:

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave yesterday to my hon. Friend the Member for Huddersfield, West (Mr. Lomas). I have agreed to meet a deputation representing all the county boroughs in the proposed metropolitan areas.—[Vol. 801, c. 246.]
