§ Mr. Orbachasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many persons were registered as unemployed in Stockport to the nearest date; and what was the classification as to men, women, boys and girls and the occupations of those previously employed.
§ Mr. Dell:At 13th April, 1970, 1,921 persons (1,638 men, 168 women, 86 boys 137W and 29 girls) were registered as unemployed in the area covered by the Stockport Employment Exchange. The numbers of men and women registered as wholly unemployed are analysed by occupation in March, June, September and December each year. The following table shows the main occupation groups of those on the registers at 9th March:
