asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what steps he is taking to increase the house-building programmes in the new towns in 1970 to 1974.

Mr. Denis Howell:

The corporations are well aware of the need to press on with building to meet requirements as they arise. I expect a substantial increase over the years 1970 to 1974, due in part to production in new towns recently designated or expanded.
