§ 39. Mr. Pavittasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many general improvement areas have been declared by the Greater London Council and London Boroughs under the Housing Act, 1969.
§ Mr. Freeson:Seven improvement areas involving 1,661 dwellings have been declared by London borough councils; none by the Greater London Council.
§ 73. Mr. Blenkinsopasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will make a statement on the progress made by local authorities in declaring improvement areas under Part 2 of the Housing Act, 1969.
§ Mr. Freeson:So far 40 local authorities in England have declared 49 general improvement areas. This is an encouraging start, and we expect more such areas to be declared during the year.
