HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c66W
44. Mr. Moyle

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what representations he has received from the Greater London Council regarding difficulties over purchase for housing purposes of land held by Her Majesty's Government, nationalised industries and other statutory bodies; and what replies he has sent.

Mr. Denis Howell:

There have been discussions with representatives of the local authorities, including the Greater London Council, about the working of the general arrangements under which authorities are offered land surplus to the needs of the nationalised industries, and about the application of these arrangements to the special circumstances of the Greater London Area. The Department has also been involved from time to time in helping to settle cases of difficulty; if my hon. Friend has a particular case in mind I shall be glad to look into it.
