§ 1. Mr. Hastings
asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what is the estimated average increase in wages in the manufacturing industry over the past three months.
§ Mr. Harold Walker
Short-term movements in earnings are partly of a seasonal nature. It is estimated that the average earnings of all workers in manufacturing industries, without adjustment for seasonal effects, increased by about 3.2 per cent. in the three months ending January, 1970.
