§ 52 and 53. Mr. Woofasked the Minister of Technology (1) if he will take steps to assist the British Steel Corporation and the National Coal Board to make good the loss of revenue resulting from the burning off to waste of coke oven gas that will result from failure to find alternative outlets for it when natural gas is introduced;
(2) if he will take steps to ensure that coke oven gas will still be used rather than flared off to waste as a result of the introduction of North Sea gas.
Mr. Alan WilliamsAs I said in a reply on 4th March, talks about the possible future use of this gas are going on between the parties concerned. In those circumstances the question of compensation for the waste of the gas does not arise.—[Vol. 797, c.122.]
