HC Deb 18 March 1970 vol 798 c131W
60. Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has made of the number of dwellings in Scotland which do not meet the tolerable standard laid down in the Housing (Scotland) Act; and how many of these it is estimated can be brought up to the standard.

Dr. Dickson Mabon

Surveys are now being made by the local authorities, and a reliable estimate can be made later.

Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland by what date he expects to receive copies of surveys of sub-standard housing carried out by all the housing authorities under the provisions of the Housing (Scotland) Act, 1969.

Mr. Ross

I hope to receive the local authorities' assessments by the end of May.
