asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give the number of applicants in the city of Carlisle and the county of Cumberland who have been exempted from prescription charges.

Some 9,000 up to February, 1970; but about 95 per cent. of people eligible for exemption do not need to apply for a certificate.
