Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will introduce legislation to give Welsh parents living in England the choice of opting for a Welsh education for their children.

Under the Education Act, 1944, it is already open to any local education authority in England to consider establishing a school providing Welsh education where sufficient demand exists, but this is a matter for local education authorities.
