HC Deb 04 March 1970 vol 797 cc123-4W
Mr. Ted Fletcher

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many safety committees are functioning in places of employment in the Darlington district; and what proportion this represents of all firms with more than 50 employees.

Mr. Harold Walker

The survey made by the Factory Inspectorate in 1969 disclosed that in factories in the Darlington district there were 70 joint safety committees or other joint consultative committees concerned with safety. This represented 50 per cent. of factories where more than 50 persons were employed.
