HC Deb 24 July 1970 vol 804 c256W
Mr. Prescott

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if he will accept the invitation of the Hull Fruit Traders Association to pay an official visit to Hull docks.

Mr. James Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what letter he has received from the Hull Fruit Importers and Merchants Association Limited regarding dock working in the port of Hull; what answer he has given; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Dudley Smith

The Hull Fruit Importers and Merchants Association have written to my right hon. Friend asking that a representative of the D.E.P. should visit the port to see the effect on the fruit and vegetable trades of present employment conditions in the docks. My right hon. Friend has asked our local officials to look into the matter.
