§ 65. Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether, in view of the adverse decisions on planning in respect of appeals by Major Edwin Johnson of Whitley Bay, submitted by him and the hon. Member for Tynemouth, and the reversal of the refusal on a point of law again submitted by Major Edwin Johnson, he will hold an inquiry into the operation by his Department of the machinery of planning appeals to ensure that the refusals of appeals by his Department are not made without legal authority.
§ Mr. Graham PageEach of Major Johnson's appeals, including the most recent one which was allowed, was decided on its individual planning merits. No question of reversing any of the decisions on a point of law, which would in any case be a matter for the courts, has arisen.
