asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will take steps to ensure that the conversion to decimal currency of the coin locks on public conveniences by local authorities and others does not lead to an increase in the cost of spending a penny.

My right hon. Friend does not control these matters. As to the introduction of decimal currency generally, he has asked local authorities to play their part in seeing that an overall increase in prices does not result.
