asked the Minister of Transport if he will analyse the road accidents, including deaths and injuries over the Christmas and New Year periods, for the last five years, allied with, in separate figures, the increase in licensed cars on the road and licensed drivers, and presented in the appropriate percentages.

Mr. Mulley

The presentation of a special analysis in the full detail requested would entail undue expenditure, but the following information already available gives the main details required for the Christmas periods from 1965 to 1968. Similar analyses have not been made for the New Year. I will write to the hon. Lady when definitive figures for 1969 are available.
