HC Deb 25 February 1970 vol 796 cc326-7W
28. Sir G. de Freitas

asked the President of the Board of Trade which Commonwealth countries have preferential agreements with the European Economic Community and which have notified Her Majesty's Government of their proposal to open negotiations for such agreements.

Mr. Mason

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have an Association Agreement with the Community which has been signed but not yet ratified. An Association Agreement between Nigeria and the Community lapsed before ratification. Malta is the only Commonwealth country known to have a specific proposal for an agreement under consideration by the Community.
