§ Mr. FowlerI regret that this information is not available. This is because it is difficult to allocate expenditure between education and research for Scottish universities alone.
Such figures as are available are to be found in the annual "Returns from Universities and University Colleges" and in "Statistics of Education 1966 and 1967, Volume 6 'Universities'". The 1968 version of this latter volume is now being prepared.
