HC Deb 23 February 1970 vol 796 c251W
Mr. Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will show, separately, how many new houses have been provided by the new towns for low-paid manual workers employed there; and in each case what proportion these houses are of their total housing stock.

Mr. Ross

Standard houses are not provided for particular income groups, but rent rebate schemes in operation in all the New Towns are designed to ensure that low-paid workers are not deprived of Corporation houses because of inability to pay rent.
