HC Deb 23 February 1970 vol 796 c250W
Mr. Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will estimate the number of unskilled and semi-skilled workers who commute from Glasgow to East Kilbride and to Cumbernauld for employment.

Mr. Ross

The only available information is from the 1966 Census of Population. This indicated that 2,370 and 660 Glasgow City residents had their places of work in East Kilbride and Cumbernauld respectively. Separate figures are not available for unskilled and semiskilled workers.
